Course Description

PMBA 602: Introduction to Quantitative Methods for Business, using Excel (21 hrs)

Note: All courses are non-credit and are graded Pass/Fail.

An intensive revision course designed to help students who have not used mathematics recently or who have gaps in their knowledge.

The topics covered include basic mathematical methods needed for business decisions, including review of functions and graphs (linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential and logarithmic), solving simultaneous equations, time value of money, basic terms and methods of descriptive statistics, and mathematical problem-solving approaches. The course introduces and uses Excel extensively.
